This easy dog treat recipe is grain free without peanut butter. It is a plain dog treat but very popular! Easy Grain Free Dog Treat Recipe
1 ½ cups Coconut Flour
1 cup Buckwheat Flour
3 Large Eggs
¼ cup Olive or Canola Oil
¼ cup Honey
½ cup Water
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Gather ingredients and have a rolling pin, cookie cutters and a baking sheet ready. Dog Bone shape cutouts are optional but they are cute!
Step 2
Add all the dry ingredients to a stand mixer then add the wet ingredients.
Step 3
Mix the ingredients using a dough hook until the dog treat dough forms
Step 4
Roll out the dough until it is ¼ inches thick. Cut out shapes with a cookie cutter. Place the treat shapes on to a cookie sheet (baking sheet)
Step 5
Bake for 10 minutes then flip the treat over for an additional bake time of 10 minutes. (20 minutes total baking time)
Step 6
Shut off the oven and leave the treats in it overnight (leave the door shut the whole time). Or take the treats out of the oven and dehydrate at 155 degrees for 10 - 12 hours. If you do this, your treats should have a 6 month shelf life. (If you do not do any of these steps and take the treats out immediately after baking, your treats will have a 3 - 5 day shelf life in the refrigerator or you can freeze them for up to 6 months)

After the treats are cooled you can decorate them with any healthy dog treat icing recipe that you may already use. How to Decorate Dog Treats

If you choose one of the icing mixes from Pastries 4 Pets, all you will need is water, food color, a bowl and a spoon. It is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Add the amount of mix to your bowl, as indicated on the icing package. Then add a little bit of powder food coloring (if you are not using powder add the coloring after the water amounts are stirred in) Mix the powder color into the icing mix until it is blended.
Add the suggested water amount on the icing package. Use a tiny bit less water if you want the icing to be thicker for writing and details, or a bit more if you want it to be thinner for flooding your treat background design.
Pro Tip: Allow your background icing to dry prior to adding the writing and details on top of it.
Allow your entire treat to air dry overnight or to the amount of time specified on the icing directions.
